چکیده

UNLABELLED Various mathematical models have been used to explore the dynamics of transposable elements (TEs) within their host genomes. However, numerous factors can influence their dynamics, and we know only little about the dynamics of TEs when they first began to invade populations. In addition, the influence of population structuring has only recently been investigated. Transposable Element Simulator Dynamics, a population genomics simulation environment, has therefore been developed to provide a simple tool for analyzing the dynamics of TEs in a community based on (i) various TE parameters, such as the transposition and excision rates, the recombination rate and the coefficient of selection against TE insertions; and (ii) population parameters, such as population size and migration rates. The simulations can be used to illustrate the dynamic fate of TEs in structured populations, can be extended by using more specific molecular or demographic models, and can be useful for teaching population genetics and genomics. Multiphase flow and tromp curve simulation of dense medium cyclones using Computational Fluid Dynamics

Dense Medium Cyclone is a high capacity device that is widely used in coal preparation. It is simple in design but the swirling turbulent flow, the presence of medium and coal with different density and size fraction and the presence of the air-core make the flow pattern in DMCs complex. In this article the flow pattern simulation of DMC is performed with computational fluid dynamics and Fluent...

Piezoceramic Element Design and Fabrication for Ultrasonic Transducer of Gas Meter

Ultrasonic transducers play a significant role in generating and receiving the acoustic waves in ultrasonic flowmeters. Depending on the required accuracy, the ultrasonic transducers can be installed either in one pair or more in an ultrasonic flowmeter. The main part of an ultrasonic transducer is its piezoceramic element. In this work, four piezoceramic elements with different diameter to thi...

Finite Element Simulation of Contact Mechanics of Cancer Cells in Manipulation Based on Atomic Force Microscopy

The theory of contact mechanics deals with stresses and deformations which arise when the surfaces of two solid bodies are brought into contact. In elastic deformation contact occurs over a finite area. A regular method for determining the dimensions of this area is Hertz Contact Model. Appearance of atomic force microscope results in introduction of Contact ...

Population genetics and molecular evolution of DNA sequences in transposable elements. I. A simulation framework.

A population genetic simulation framework is developed to understand the behavior and molecular evolution of DNA sequences of transposable elements. Our model incorporates random transposition and excision of transposable element (TE) copies, two modes of selection against TEs, and degeneration of transpositional activity by point mutations. We first investigated the relationships between the b...

Vibration Analysis of Circular Single-Layer Graphene Sheet Using Finite Element Method

Graphene sheets are combined of Honeycombs lattice carbon-carbon bonds which have high natural frequencies, high strength, and high conductivity. Due to important applications of the graphene sheets particularly at higher frequencies, the study of their dynamic behavior is important in this frequency range. From Molecular Dynamics (MD) point of view as the dimensions of graphene sheet incline, ...
